Our Process Every project is unique. Specifications, plans, requirements, approving agencies, manufacturers and customers, all combine to make each project its own unique system. We look at each project as it is, with its uniqueness and challenges. Each system is designed based on its needs, rather than a cookie cutter design. The general process: - You send us the information for the project. We prefer to discuss the project with you, often for clarification. - We will design the project based on the information and conversations. - We will send you the completed design in PDF for you to review. This assures that we are designing it based on your requirements. - We will make any changes needed and send you the final project design for submittal. All files we submit to you are in PDF format as a universal standard and can be easily printed out. We can also send you the CAD files at your request, but it can be much more problematic, as software employed may vary company to company. Title blocks: We can work with your companies drawing title block or use our own. Drawing conversion: Some PDF files are actually scanned documents and cannot be inserted into cad programs directly. These files, as well as ordinary scanned files, sketches and paper drawings must converted to CAD. The fastest and most accurate method for this is tracing over the file in CAD to produce a usable floor plan. Depending on the size of the project and the quality of the original, this can take from a couple of hours to days. It is very important to make sure that any drawing that needs to be converted, has at least one object dimension for scaling purposes. Required information: CAD file (is preferred, see above), equipment takeoff, and equipment manufacturers. For new construction, we would prefer to have the Architectural and MEP drawing sets. Pricing: Prices are determined by amount of time required to engineer the project. This price includes Initial drawing, submittal data, corrections based on review comments and asbuilt drawings at the completion of the project. Current pricing is based on $700 per day (8 hours) with a minimum of one half day (4 hours). Site Surveys: Yes, we can do site surveys, if needed. Site survey time will be included in the price of engineering. Any file or paperwork you send to us is confidential.
